Family friendly holiday home in the Vendee region of France. Sleeps up to 8 guests in three bedrooms. Large heated swimming pool, well-equipped games room and large gardens. Self-catering house, with option of meals on first night, barbecue on Sundays and breakfast on last morning. Le Vieux Cafe is open all year round and caters for families with children of all ages. Some pets are accepted. Village location, only 15km from the beaches at La faute sur Mer and La Tranche sur Mer. Close to the historic town of Lucon and the lively port of La Rochelle. Le Vieux Cafe shares the heated pool with our other gite - L'Ecurie, which sleeps up to 5 guests in two bedrooms. both can be rented individually or together. Large country house with views towards the local marais - marshland. Great location for walking and cycling holidays. Many cycle routes nearby and great countryside, with many picnic areas and forests to walk through.

Description of location
 

Le Vieux Cafe is located in the small village of Lairoux, approximately 10km from the cathedral town of Lucon in the southern Vendee. There are good motorway links within 20 minutes from the village and there are 2 airports within an hour's drive. Both La Rochelle airport and Nantes airport are served by sveral of the budget airlines and car hire is available. The channel ports of northern France are from only 3.5 hours away. St Malo is the closest, then there is Caen(4.5 hours), Cherbourg (5 hours), Le Havre (6 hours) and Calais (7 hours). We are able to provide route maps for your journey and also to offer advise about stop-offs en route.

  • A 30% deposit is required to secure your reservation, with the remaining 70% being paid 8 weeks prior to your holiday. A £100 security deposit is also required and this will be returned after your holiday, providing there is no damage to the property or its contents and that the house should be as clean and tidy as when you arrived.
  • Changeover day is Saturday.
