Family friendly holiday home in the Vendee region of France. Sleeps up to 5 guests in two bedrooms. Large heated swimming pool, well-equipped games room and large gardens. Self-catering house, with option of meals on first night, barbecue on Sundays and breakfast on last morning. L'Ecurie is open all year round and caters for families with children of all ages. Some pets are accepted. Village location, only 15km from the beaches at La Faute sur Mer and La Tranche sur Mer. Close to the historic town of Luηon and the lively port of La Rochelle. L'Ecurie shares the heated pool with our other gite - Le Vieux Cafe, which sleeps up to 8 guests in three bedrooms. Both can be rented individually or together. Large country house with views towards the local marais - marshland. Great location for walking and cycling holidays. Many cycle routes nearby and great countryside, with many picnic areas and forests to walk through.
L'Ecurie is located in the small village of Lairoux, approximately 10km from the cathedral town of Lucon in the southern Vendee. There are good motorway links within 20 minutes from the village and there are 2 airports within an hour's drive. Both La Rochelle airport and Nantes airport are served by several of the budget airlines and car hire is available. The channel ports of northern France are from only 3.5 hours away. St Malo is the closest, then there is Caen(4.5 hours), Cherbourg (5 hours), Le Havre (6 hours) and Calais (7 hours). We are able to provide route maps for your journey and also to offer advise about stop-offs en route.
A 30% deposit is required to secure your reservation, with the remaining 70% being paid 8 weeks prior to your holiday. A security deposit of £100 is also required and this will be returned to you after your stay, provided there is no damage to the property or its contents and that the house is left in the same clean and tidy condition to which it was found.
We are able to provide extra services : A Welcome Pack of supplies can be provided for your arrival. An evening meal can be prepared for your first night. (We are able to cater for children, with meals like homemade pizza, pasta or rice dishes.). A Sunday afternoon BBQ. A breakfast (Full English or Continental) for your departure morning.

The house is available to rent throughout the year and the changeover day is Saturday during the high and peak season. We are able to be more flexible with start and end dates of holidays from October to March.
Bed linens and towels are provided, but please bring your own pool towels.
The house has a high chair, cot, changing mat and lots of plastic crockery & cutlery for younger children.
The house is geared towards families and comes complete with cot, high chair, changing mat, plastic cutlery & crockery. There is also a large games room with an Xbox 360, table tennis, board games, dressing up clothes, books and DVDs.
